Welcome to Urbandogz Training Resource

Established in February 2004 as a hands on training organisation, Urbandogz initially offered dog owners the opportunity to learn how to teach their pets the things they really need to know. Experienced trainers,  accredited through the Delta Society of Australia with a Certificate IV in behavioural training, with more than 30 years experience in helping people to manage and train their dogs, ran a series of training classes to deliver up to date training methods to hundreds of students.

Urbandogz used only reward based training methods, recognising that aversive (punishment) methods do not teach desirable behaviours and lead to a poor human-canine relationship. Setting people and dogs up to succeed, by using best practice and up to date, evidence-based training techniques, was a key success factor.

Urbandogz no longer runs training classes, leaving that now to the many Delta accredited trainers who have gone through their "apprenticeship" with us and moved on to set up their own training schools. This site is now a legacy to the journey our trainers have taken to improve the way they help people to get along with dogs.
